Division Chief of Training
Division Chief Whitner join South Adam in 2017 and has over 16 years in the fire industry and has held various ranks from Firefighter to Chief Level Officer. She holds a M.A, Business and Management / Fire Officer, Fire Instructor, Hazmat Technician, EMT and other required certifications. South Adams County Fire’s Training Facility is located at 9911 E. 104th Avenue in Henderson. The 3.5 acre facility includes a two-story burn building for live fire evolutions and an attached four-story tower for high-rise training. Other props include a propane fed car fire, bus and semi-trailer for extrication, driving course, and an MC-306 trailer for hazardous materials training. A 30-person classroom with audio-visual equipment and Zoom capability hosts courses and presentations. Primary memberships include the North Area Training Chiefs, Colorado Fire Training Officers Association, and the International Association of Fire Chiefs It has been a tremendous honor to work with the motivated firefighters at South Adams and grow together in mastering safe, effective, and efficient skills and tactics. The Training Division strives to exceed required and recommended standards as well as provide realistic drills and scenarios that reflect the professional mindset of our personnel in mitigating all hazard emergencies.
